For me, lipstick is the cherry on top of a very well put together outfit, it can bring your whole look together whilst adding up that pop of colour to you face of make-up as well as completing it too. Lipstick is the last thing I apply before leaving the house and I never feel complete with out it.
As the seasons come and go I always like to switch up my makeup bag, especially lip colours! For day-to-day in the office I tend to reach for a nude or soft pink as it goes with a lot of my workwear. But on the weekends I wear my newest pieces and reach for a few different shades of lip colour. Below are my three current favourites:
- Ted Baker – This beautiful mid-pink shade actually came in a Ted Baker gift set and unfortunately you can’t buy it separately, but I am sure there are shades out their that are very similar. It’s quite a bright pink but layered over the top of a more nudey pink lipliner it makes the perfectly pink lip for spring. For formula is lovely however with the rounded end it is a little harder to apply.
- L’oreal Colour Riche Matte, shade 636 Mahogany Studs – This is a darker true nude shade with neutral pink undertones. It’s a little darker than the usual nude shades that I tend to go for this time of year, however, I’m finding it to be a great transitioning nude as even though it is technically spring, the weather here in the UK is saying otherwise! With a matte finish and lasting finish, this lippy is perfect for long days in the office.
- Milani Matte Lipstick, shade 68 Iconic – Now, I must apologise as you have definitely seen this lip colour before but I just love it! For me, it’s the perfect red for my complexion, the finish is matte enough but not so matte that it make my lips look wrinkly and eww. It’s got a bright finish to it and I know I will be reaching for it this season and throughout the summer too. If you haven’t tried Milani Cosmetics before, I would 100% recommend that you do, they really are fabulous and very affordable too.
