Every year when the September issues of my favourite fashion magazines are released I get super excited for a fresh new year of fashion, trends and style. I flick through the pages and pick out my favourite trends and look forward to what’s to come to stores.
This year I thought I’d sit down as I usually would and capture my favourite autumn trends – Here we go!
Vogue is my favourite place to start. I instantly fell in love with this Gucci advert featuring the ever so beautiful Dakota Johnson. I love the whole advert from the set up to the clothing and all the minor details.
I spotted this ‘galaxy quest’ trend and at first I couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. But then I imagined a cute little blouse with a fine galaxy print and thought, that is definitely something I’d purchase. I also loved the earrings in the bottom right hand corner – I think this trend will be great for dainty jewellery pieces.
Now just look at the autumn spectrum! I am so in love with all of these colours. From rich mustard to burnt orange and emerald greens – This has made me super excited for all the colours of autumn. What’s your favourite colour for the up-coming season?
Every year I always opt for a houndstooth print/heritage print coat – I love what they add to any outfit and am pleased to see more in trend this year. I’m enjoying the brown tones and the larger prints.
As I work in the office and generally dress smart/casual all the time I love seeing new workwear inspired trends; with tailored lines and structured fits. I have always been a dress kinds girl until the beginning of last month when I re-kindled my love for structured A-line skirts. I’ve been pairing them with plain tees or a patterned blouse depending on the fabrics.
I purchase Porter magazine every now and again but this time I realised how much Ilove the layouts and features, so I will definitely be looking at getting it again next month!
I am obsessed with the deep more rusty pastel shades featured in this photoshoot. Her turquoise boots are dreamy and look lovely with the burnt orange skirt and then blush blouse. I really hope high-street stores take on these colours for the upcoming months.
‘The Hero Blazer’ is a trend that I want to invest into. I’ve been looking for the perfect blazer for a few months but haven’t found one. I think they can add a smart look to a really casual jeans and tee. Hopefully in the new season I can find the perfect one for me.
This outfit basically sums up how I’ll be dressing this autumn – A line mini skirt, turtle neck jumper and a heritage styled coat!
Are you just as excited for autumn and a new year of fashion? If yes, be sure to let me know your favourite trends!
