January Favourites • 2016

Wow, I cannot believe we are coming to the end of January already. When I was younger I never felt the days, weeks, months and years go by as quick as I do now that I am an adult, well kind of an adult – not very good at adult-ing!

I thought I would share with you all my favourites from January, the majority are beauty products this month, however, I did find after shooting this I thought of a few things which weren’t beauty products. But never mind, I shall save those for next time.

January Favourites • 2016

First up I want to talk about the candle and candle holder to the left of the photograph above. I picked the candle holder up in a sale last year and it just adds the perfect touch to my desk in my office. I love the rich colour of the blue and the pattern too.

Coconut candles have been my absolute fav this month. After spending the whole of the Christmas season immersed in cinnamon and red berry candles, I’ve found coconut to be the perfect contrast.

If you know me then you’ll know I LOVE inspirational quotes, you’ll also know this if you follow my Instagram. The little ‘think happy, be happy’ postcard in the bottom right has been one of my favourites for a while now. I just agree with it so much; if I have happy thoughts then I am happy. This is also something I really want to work on myself this year, is maintaining happiness.

I’ve had this perfume since last January but used my beloved Chloé perfume constantly, until recently when I realised my Chloé perfume was almost gone. So, decided to start using this one, and I love it! Probably, just as much as my Chloé by Chloé. Plus it’s called ‘Princess’ and well, I want to be a real life, Princess!

The Garnier Moisture Nourish moisturiser has been my holy grail for a few years now. Sometimes I’ll try another one and they go back and wonder why I bothered trying a new one. It is soft and sinks into my skin so nicely and makes my skin feel and look so much healthier.

Now, I used to use this foundation when I was a teenager and then moved to MAC Studio Fix which I then used for something crazy like 3 years, until recently when my boyfriend pointed out how much I had spent purely on that foundation over those years. So I then decided to go back to a drugstore, so I chose my trusty L’oreal True Match and paired it with the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation (which I’ll get to in a bit)!

If you don’t already know about this concealer, where have you been?! I’ve been using for years now and always go back to it if I ever have the daft idea of trying a different one.

This is the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. So it’s basically a high coverage powder, you can wear it by itself, which I do when I want to complete my makeup in 5 minutes. Otherwise, I sweep this on like a normal powder over the top of my foundation and it finishes my look with a flawless full coverage finish which is equal or even better to wearing the Studio Fix Foundation with a normal powder. As it’s a powder I use minimal amount so it should last me way longer than foundation and saving me money in the long run. So big thumbs up for this powder!

This highlighter is by Revolution and for the life of me, I just cannot remember the name of it. I know there were 2 other colours in this range and it cost like £4 (bargain alert!) But yes, I have been loving using this to finish off my makeup looks. It’s a perfect pale shimmery pink and adds just the right amount of sparkle.

And there you have my favourites of January! Next month I’ll try and not keep it so beauty based – but I do always love getting new makeup in January!
